I participated in a New Year’s card swap with many other CZTs recently. I learned yet again to READ THE INSTRUCIONS! After finishing 20 ATCs I realized that this was a postcard swap. In any case, here’s what I traded; it being the Year of the Rabbit, I ran with that theme with the help of my imaginary sidekicks Muffy and Binky.
Last January I took my first Zentangle class at the Art Bar in Santa Ana, CA with Suzanne McNeill CZT, she of the Design Originals series of art and craft instructional books. I was hooked right away and began tangling everything in sight. In May 2010 I took another class at Art and Soul in Hampton Roads, VA with Sandra Bartholomew CZT. This just got me tangling even more. Finally I could no longer resist. I took the Zentangle Teacher Certification in October 2010 from Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, developers of this technique of meditative drawing.
I just moved into a loft in downtown Long Beach, CA that has ideal space for my own art studio. Once I am at least minimally unpacked I plan to start teaching small Zentangle and other classes in my home studio.
Once my computer and scanner are set up and on-line I will start posting my own tangles and some of the other mixed-media and jewelry that I create.
